And complete lack of awareness of how many amazing people walked through that studio door. If I had to pick one time in all my years of shooting that was special, it would be back then. It was the sweet spot. Not because it was my strongest work, but because I was learning so much and meeting so many people. In many ways it was the golden age of figure photography. Digital cameras had matured. Social media hadn’t gobbled our attention with video, and the craft of photography was still appreciated. There was an innocence to it all back then. Hard to explain, really. It was about making art, about connecting with a fellow creative. Not so much about clicks, likes, and content creation. Behind the scenes? Who cares. Our work spoke for us. Not some fabricated, attention-seeking reel that not only fakes and romanticizes a process but relegates the work to “oh yea, here’s my work.” I know I sound like a cranky old boomer. I’m okay with that.
Anyhoo. These are all outtakes, processed today. Remember kids, keep your raws.
